On February 14th, for students of the 8th grade of school № 63″, an introductory conversation-excursion “The Library Meets Friends” was held.
The children were offered to visit the halls of the library, get acquainted with the book fund and exhibitions, and were also told about the rules for using books, online services, circle and club activities.
During the tour, the children took part in the interactive quiz “The city where you live” dedicated to the Day of the city of Karaganda.

On the eve of the Day of Remembrance of Soldiers-Internationalists, the library hosted a meeting with participants in the war in Afghanistan (1979-1989). The meeting was attended by a police colonel, assistant head of the Karaganda Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after. B.Beisenova S.Zh.Toktabekov @sergalitoktabekov and reserve sergeant, member of the Union of veterans and invalids of the war in Afghanistan “Ardager” I.G.Molodov.
The guests told the schoolchildren about how they got to the war, what inhuman trials they had to go through while fulfilling the international duty of a Soviet soldier-internationalist. Young readers have prepared a literary and poetic gift for the guests of honor. In conclusion, I. G. Molodov donated to the library a unique publication dedicated to the search for soldiers who disappeared on the Afghan fronts.

At the next lesson of the circle “Let’s speak in Kazakh !” children in the form of a game learned new words-professions. How to pronounce words correctly, how to build a sentence – the children coped with this task easily , thanks to the leader of the circle Zeikenova Zh.

This year marks the 355th anniversary of the orator, public figure, our countryman Kazybek Keldibekuly.
For history, Kazybek bi is an outstanding personality of the period of formation of the unified state of the Kazakhs, who became a symbol of justice for his fellow tribesmen, became famous as a successful diplomat, and defended the interests of his people. The rich spiritual heritage of Kazybek bi, sayings, edifications, aphorisms were passed down from generation to generation as examples of oratory.
In the reading room for acquaintance there is an exhibition-personal “Heritage of Kazybek bi” with book and periodical materials about the fate and work of the master of oratory.
The library funds contain books about the great steppe orator and diplomat Kazybek bi: encyclopedia “Kaz dauysty Kazybek bi”; historical chronicle of the activities of Kazybek bi (author J.Omari); a collection of aphorisms, articles by scientists and researchers, etc.

On February 10th , the library hosted a meeting of those wishing to learn English as part of the Speaking Club. The participants met Buharali Nur Banu, who speaks English, and kindly agreed to help our readers learn it. The task of the club is to instill love and the need to communicate in a foreign language, to make learning easy and affordable. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the guys improved their communication skills through “live” communication.

In 2022, the Year of Children and Children’s Literature, the library will host many different events about the writers and poets of Kazakhstan. There are names in Kazakh literature that deserve special attention. For example, the famous children’s writer Moldakhmet Kanazov turns 80 this year.
This date was dedicated to the literary salon “The many-sided work of Moldakhmet Kanazov” with the participation of children from the 6th grade of the gymnasium № 3. The children studied the biography of the author and prepared information messages about the most important events in the life of the writer. The event was focused on the story of M. Kanazov “Chika – the son of Dabyl”, on which a discussion of individual chapters, plot, actions of the characters took place.
The event ended with a “situational series”, where the presenter asked the children questions about friendship, betrayal, difficult situations for teenagers and gave advice on how to deal with their fears, be self-confident and strive to be better.
This form of work expands and deepens the acquaintance of schoolchildren with the life and work of the writer, his literary environment, era, creates more complete picture of the personality of the writer about the significance of his work.

Akhmet Baitursynov (1872-1937) is an outstanding scientist, educator, poet and translator, public and political figure, a prominent representative of the Alash movement, was announced as the author of 2022 as part of the annual republican action “One Country – One Book”.
The main purpose of the action is to study the creative heritage of Akhmet in such areas as “The scientific heritage of A. Baitursynov”, “Literary works of A. Baitursynov”, “Winged words and expressions of A. Baitursynov”. “Baiturs sonology in modern science”.
Each section consistently acquaints the reader with the works of A. Baitursynov, who left a noticeable mark in literary criticism, linguistics, pedagogy, Turkology, Abay studies, and translation. His pen belongs to works written in the genres of poems, fables, essays, and so on.
Quite a few works have been written about A. Baitursynov himself, which reveal his scientific side of activity and exploits in the political field.
Readers can get acquainted with these materials in the senior department of the library. The exhibition will function throughout the year.
