Every year the library acquaints its readers with the outstanding personalities of our region through the local history book exhibition “Tugan olke – Tungan Tarikh”.

This year marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of the founder of modern Kazakh literature, poet and writer, public figure Saken Seifullin; 120 years since the birth of an outstanding Kazakhstan geologist and public figure, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences Kanysh Satpayev; 105 years since the birth of the writer Sattar Erubaev; 100 years since the birth of the Hero of the Soviet Union, the pilot Nurken Abdirov. The streets of our city are named after them, monuments have been erected in their honor.

The exhibition presents books about the life and work of famous people of the Karaganda region, presents works by S. Seifullin S. Erubaev.

Library staff seek to ensure that readers know the history of their land, their heroes, and can be proud of their small homeland.
