In the summer of 2018, the innovation and methodological department implemented a cycle of Days of Entertaining Facts “Funny Science”, with the aim of organizing children’s leisure and creating an educational space for the development of creativity and cognitive activity of children during the vacation period. Experimental classes were conducted: “Time travel – acquaintance with technical objects that have come out of use”, experiments with water, with magnets, with sand, with soda, cognitive experiments “Invisible ink”.

Experimental activities in the summer attracted the interest of children, and it was decided to expand the topic of experiments and continue it in the new year 2019, creating a library laboratory “Funny Science”.

Content

 In 2021, “Funny Science” – a course that includes elements of physics, chemistry, biology, geography, natural history, is being implemented for the third year.

The library expanded the boundaries of the readers’ horizons, aimed at developing natural science concepts in biology, astronomy using optical instruments.

 The task of the laboratory: to show children how entertaining and fun science can be, to awaken in children an interest in natural science, and also to attract children to reading popular science literature.

Educational goals: to consolidate the knowledge of children about the microscope, telescope, to form the ability to use research instruments.

Developmental goals: to develop the ability of children to compare different objects viewed in a telescope, under a microscope, to activate the children’s dictionary with scientific terms, to develop curiosity, attention, interest in research.

Exciting activities from the library laboratory based on the laws of natural sciences with an accessible explanation will bring your child a lot of joy and fun. New knowledge in this format is easily perceived by children, classes together with librarians will awaken children’s interest in learning.

The laboratory program consists of 8 practical sessions, namely experiments and experiments. The experiments for children are simple and understandable. In addition, the experiments are based on materials that the library provides free of charge for children. When compiling the program, the laboratories adhered to the following principles: taking into account age characteristics, the involvement of all children in active activities, accessibility and clarity, the relationship between theory and practice.

 Dates: from January 22, 2021 on the third Friday of each month at 15.00. The duration of the lesson is 1 hour.

Each lesson is accompanied by a review of books and magazines, showing educational videos, cartoons corresponding to the subject of the laboratory.

PROGRAM
