Relevance
In the summer of 2018, the innovation and methodological department implemented a cycle of Days of entertaining facts “Merry Science”, in order to organize children’s leisure and create an educational space for the development of creativity and cognitive activity of children during the holidays. Experimental classes were held: “Time travel – acquaintance with technical objects that have gone out of use”, experiments with water, magnets, sand, soda, cognitive experiments “Invisible ink”.
Experimental activities during the summer interested children, and it was decided to expand the topic of experiments by creating a library laboratory “Merry Science”.

Content
In 2023, the Fun Science course, which includes elements of physics, chemistry, biology, geography, and natural science, has been implemented for the five year.
The library has expanded the horizons of readers, aimed at the development of natural science ideas in biology, astronomy with the help of optical instruments.
The task of the laboratory is to show children how entertaining and fun science can be, to arouse in children an interest in natural science, and also to involve children in reading popular science literature.
Educational goals: to consolidate children’s knowledge about the microscope, telescope, to form the ability to use research instruments.
Developmental goals: to develop the ability of children to compare different objects viewed in a telescope, under a microscope, to activate the vocabulary of children with scientific terms, to develop curiosity, attention, interest in research.
Exciting activities from the library laboratory based on the laws of natural sciences with an accessible explanation will bring a lot of joy and fun to the child. New knowledge in this format is easily perceived by children, classes with librarians will awaken in children an interest in learning.

The laboratory program consists of 14 practical classes, namely experiments and experiments. Experiments for children are simple and understandable. In addition, the experiments are based on materials that the library provides for children free of charge. When compiling the program, the laboratories adhered to the following principles: taking into account age characteristics, the inclusion of all children in active activities, accessibility and visibility, the relationship between theory and practice.
Dates: from February 17 th, 2023 on second and third Friday of each month at 15.00. The duration of the lesson is 1 hour.

Each lesson is accompanied by a review of books and magazines, showing educational videos, cartoons, relevant to the theme of the laboratory.
