Innovative and methodological work The branch provides metodical and advisory assistance to children’s library of region. It organizes and provides unity of methodological activities. It annually conducts seminars, professional competitions, round tables on problems of children’s reading. The branch produces bibliographic, methodical book allowance for helping children’s libraries of region; CID (Calendar of important dates). Branch bibliographer assists readers in finding information and selection of the literature. Every year the fund receives more than 3000 books, periodicals, cd’s, CD, audio and video cassettes, which are entered into the electronic catalog of the library by the “IRBIS – 64” program. Computers connected to the Internet. The collection contains CD-ROM disks with information on various branches of knowledge and artistic works of Kazakh, Russian and foreign authors. Due to a network of the World Wide Web (WWW), users have the ability to find the necessary information to assist in the school curriculum, tro raise the intellectual level, the reading of full-text electronic documents (books, magazines, etc.) by using search engines digital libraries, portals and web-sites. Children can find the literature on all branches of knowledge here. In the reading room children can prepare their lessons, write a paper, read new issues of newspapers and magazines. In the branch children can read fairy tales, stories of favorite authors. In the reading room children can look through children’s magazines and newspapers; periodicals fund is more than 20 names. In the library loan books are given home for 10 days, if someone has not had time to read it, the period of use of the publication can be extended for another 10 days. 3-4 grade students are taught to search eBooks.
