Round table “Family reading: a passing tradition and eternal value”

On May 5th in the library within the framework of the social regional project “Dad can do everything”, a round table “Family reading: a passing tradition and eternal value” was held under the auspices of the Year of Support for Children and Youth Reading in Kazakhstan. The event was moderated by the head of our library Uataeva B.K. The organizers of the event set out to discuss topical issues about the importance of reading in a family setting, about the reasons for today’s rejection of reading by a significant part of children and adults, as well as about finding opportunities for cooperation between various organizations to overcome this trend.
The participants of the round table meeting were the teacher of the philological faculty of the Karaganda University named after academician E.A. Boketov, associate professor, candidate of philological sciences Rustemova Zh.A .; methodologist of the Educational and Methodological Center of the Department of Education of the Karaganda region Zharkeeva G.B.; senior lecturer of the Karaganda branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhanseitov A.T., senior lecturer of the Karaganda branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermagambetov E.M., head of the innovation and methodological department of the library Zhusupova S. Zh .; head of the department of services for children of middle and senior school age of the library Podgainova M.N.
The invited guests the Eginbaev and Vasilechko families – the Winners in the “Reading Family” nominations of the “Reader’s Benefit” holiday in 2020, 2021, shared their reading experience.
The round table moderator managed to organize a lively, interested exchange of views on various aspects of the problem raised.
The common thread of all the speeches of the participants in the event sounded the assertion that it is possible to raise the prestige of children’s reading only with the active promotion of children’s reading, consistent, thoughtful cooperation of the family, preschool and school institutions, and children’s libraries.
