A live broadcast was held in the Abai library on August 18 with the participation of the Kasymologist, the teacher of the Kazakh language of the cultural center “Korkyt-Abai ” (Paris), candidate of philological sciences Altunay Kuralai Magikizi on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of our compatriot, poet Kasym Amanzholov. The purpose of the event is to popularize the work of Kasym Amanzholov, form the literary preference of Karaganda residents, and promote the poet’s work.

During the conversation, some facts from the biography of K. Amanzholov were sounded, questions about the peculiarities of the author’s work were raised. Altunay K. noted that the works of Kasym are known in France, they are quite popular, and the diaspora of Kazakhs celebrates the anniversary date and popularizes Kasym’s work among the younger generation.

In the year of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Abai Day, celebrated in our country for the second time, takes on a special meaning and depth. The famous akyn can rightfully be called a spiritual leader and a great teacher of the people. Abai not only laid the foundations of the written tradition in the history of Kazakh literature, enriched poetic art and genre diversity, but established strong ties with world culture, rising to the level of universal human values. The library named after Abai annually organizes various events, reviews of exhibitions, quizzes, etc. on the occasion of the poet’s birthday.
This year, on August 9, for users of the social networks Instagram, Facebook, videos “Dedicated to Abai …” with the participation of librarian Lebedov O. and reader Tursynbek N. were displayed, which tell about the monument to A. Kunanbayev in the city of Karaganda.
On August 10, on the social networks Instagram, Facebook, VKontakte, a biblical journey “Abai – Uly akyn “, dedicated to the poet and philosopher Abai Kunanbayev, was displayed. The works of the great poet were read by our readers T.Akhmetova, Sh.Mansur, N.Tursynbek, A.Vladimirkyzy. During the walk, the guys talked about what places in Karaganda are associated with the name of Abai and read poems.
In the stories on the Instagram network for young Abai scholars, an educational insta-quiz was posted in two languages, which helped to recall the well-known facts from the biography of Abai Kunanbayev.
A book exhibition “The great Abai of the great nation” was organized in the lobby of the library.
From the library stock the following were presented at the exhibition: M. Auezov’s novel “Abai”, published in 1948; A. Kunanbayev’s book “Selected” in 1951, as well as translations, words of edification, poems, books from the series “Abai academies”, published for the 175th anniversary of A. Kunanbayev and others.
During an individual review of the book exhibition, librarians told about the unique painting “Portrait of Abai” and the bust “Abai” created by the sculptor H. Nauryzbaev in 1954.

July 19 within the framework of the “Amazing World!” on the map of the coverage and development of children’s leisure in the summer, a video conversation was held on the topic “Sakhna sanlagy” with Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize, winner of the award “Madeniet Kairatkeri” Kenes Narymbaevich Zhumabekov
During the conversation, the guest revealed interesting facts from his life, talked about his childhood, coming to the theater named after S. Seifullin, about the roles that became significant for him, and plans for the future.
Zhumabekov K. is also the author of biographical books dedicated to the figures of culture of Karaganda, and dramatic performances “Zamana, netken tar edin”, “Kazybek bi”, “Komekey aulie”. The meeting with Zhumabekov was interesting and informative.

From time immemorial, dombra has been and remains a symbol of the rich spiritual history and traditions of the Kazakh people.
On the occasion of the National Day of Dombra, an online dialogue “The Treasure of Kazakhs-dombra” was organized for subscribers of the social network Instagram with the participation of Yerzhan Tursynov, a master of creating a musical instrument – dombra.
The guest talked about the details of the instrument, which tree species are suitable for the best sound, showed how the dombra is assembled.
At the end of the meeting, Yerzhan Adishevich sang songs by composers I. Zhakanov “Balqan taudyn baurayinda” and Sh. Kaldayakov “Qara kozim ” to the sound of dombra.

On the next Day of National Culture, children from school camps of gymnasium №1 and the school named after A. Bukeikhanov got acquainted with the Kazakh national rite “Besikke salu”.
This tradition is associated with the birth of a child. A festive holiday is arranged when the baby is first put into the “besik” – a rocking cradle.
The librarian told that “Besikke salu” is one of the most significant and revered ceremonies. It is very honorable to put the baby in the “besik”. According to Kazakh belief, “besik” is first fumigated with smoke, expelling evil spirits, then “Tyshtyrma” is performed. For this, sweets, kurt, sweets are passed through the hole for the pot in the bottom of the cradle, saying: “Tyshty! Tyshty! ”
It was very interesting for the children to participate in this ceremony themselves.

In May, an interactive survey on the topic “Fantasy. Horror. Mystic” was installed in the department. Anyone interested in the genres of “fantasy”, “mysticism”, “horror” could use the “ghost” to leave a recommendation for the book he liked.
The survey involved 60 adolescent readers aged 10 to 16 years.
The best books in these genres are: E. Gagloyev “Zertsalia”, “Pandemonium”, “Pardus”; D. Glukhovsky “Metro 33”; King S. Kujo; Stein R.L. “Camp”; Shcherba N. “Chasodei”.

On June 22nd in the Day of Entertaining Facts, the library staff offered the children from the Azbuka children’s center to get acquainted with the exposition of things and objects that have come out of everyday life, which have been replaced by electrical novelties and computer technologies.
Time travel turned out to be fascinating for children, as many rare things that were unfamiliar to them can be touched and heard about the history of their creation.

Another Day of National Culture was held under the title “Summer on a plate. Proper nutrition from your grandmother. ” The children of the school camps of the school named after N. Abdirov, gymnasium No. 45, together with our regular reader Zhakupbekova Gulsum Sekerbekovna, learned to make a national dish – kurt.

During the master class, Grandma talked about the benefits of kurt, various compositions and methods of preparation. Children with interest and enthusiasm made one of the most delicious dishes, and at the end of the culinary workshop, the children were treated to ready-made kurt and baursaks.

On the Day of Entertaining Facts, an amazing acquaintance with the microscope for children took place in the library. The guys learned how the microscope appeared, looked at the slides of the first samples with interest, compared their appearance with a modern microscope.
Having got acquainted with the structure of the equipment, our regular readers and children from the Smiley summer camp conducted a series of experiments in which they examined different samples: water, salt, sugar, bird feathers, leaves, cotton wool, bandage, threads, hair. In a practical lesson, we were convinced that the microscope is used to obtain enlarged images of objects invisible to the naked eye.
What did you manage to see through a microscope? Examining the slices of onions and leaves, the children saw that they consist of small different sections called cells. Black dots in the water – bacteria. When examining the sand, we saw large pieces of stones that looked like minerals.
At the end of the cognitive lesson for the children, they reviewed the interesting books “All About the Microscope”.

Our readers, pupils of the Gvozdichka kindergarten, took part in the creative lesson “Ornament is a part of the cultural heritage” within the framework of the Day of National Culture.

The children were told about the Kazakh national ornament, its main elements, options for use, and then they were offered to create an application of the ornament according to the proposed pattern, observing the symmetry in the composition.

Acquaintance with the objects of decorative and applied arts of Kazakhs gives children an idea of the traditions and peculiarities of the life of the Kazakh people, and the creation of an applique gives the opportunity to develop creative thinking.
