March 22, 2018 a kazakh writer Marat Kabanbayev would have celebrated his 70th birthday, whose work was evaluated at the international level. In 1990 he was awarded the Honorary Diploma named after H.K. Andersen for the story “Here I am – experienced!”, which is awarded every two years by the International Council on the Children’s Book (UNESCO), this was the first recognition of Kazakhstan children’s literature at the international level.
